WCC Part time Student Ambassador
Position Summary:
Student Ambassadors are a diverse group of current students that are united by their passion to help. Being a Student Ambassador is a rewarding, challenging, and demanding experience. You will be a primary representative of Washtenaw Community College (WCC), facilitator, problem-solver and mentor through various new student experiences virtually and in-person. You will be the face of WCC to new and prospective students. You will be expected to genuinely connect with a wider and more diverse range of people than you may have ever experienced. You will be part of maintaining a safe space for new students as they make the transition into our campus community.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Facilitate orientation for new and returning students
Provide individual and group campus tours
Conduct small and large group presentations at events (both virtually and in person)
Meet and greet prospective students, families, and special guests at events
Assist with data entry, gathering materials for events, and other departmental needs
Regularly conduct outgoing phone calls to students for registration, payment, and other reminders
Contact students who have recently completed onboarding to check-in on their experience
Represent WCC at both on-campus and off-campus events as needed
Serve as a point of contact for students navigating campus resources and provide appropriate referrals
Attend mandatory weekly staff meetings, and semesterly training activities
Assist in development of presentations, documents, and flyers
Related Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Host pop-up table events to familiarize students with various WCC resources and opportunities
Assist students in basic onboarding activities at the Welcome Center during peak registration periods
Support social media and communication efforts for student outreach
Support WCC’s Public Relations and Marketing Department as a public-facing student representative for marketing campaigns, photo shoots, video shoots, articles, and special events
Assist and support other departments a directed
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of 12 credits completed before position starts
Must have and maintain a minimum of a 2.5 GPA
Must be registered for 6 credit hours in winter, summer and fall semesters
Commit to a 12-month term as a Student Ambassador: continuation of employment is reviewed each April
Ability to work with a diverse student population
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
Demonstrated leadership skills
Availability to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, and occasional Saturdays as needed
Must attend mandatory training sessions and key college events
Personal transportation to external events is required; mileage reimbursed provided for use of personal vehicle.

WCC Part Time WCC Sports Student Assistant
The Part time WCC Sports – Student General Student Fund is responsible for providing assistance to the total operation of the WCC Sports Department. This is a student leadership position. To be considered, you must maintain or exceed the academic standards required for participation within SDA by maintaining a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA and be enrolled in a minimum of 6 (six) credit hours per semester. Continuation of employment is reviewed end of each semester.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
PROGRAM SUPPORT:
Support the programming and activities within WCC Sports.
Prepare, monitor and lead sporting events and tryouts; assist coaches as needed.
Provide pre-event logistics support: planning, preparation, promotion, and organization.
Provide onsite event support: setup, check-in, and clean-up.
Assist with post-event support: communication, data collection, assessment, documentation.
Ability to referee intramural sports (as needed)
Gain knowledge of the variety of WCC Sports opportunities including Club Sports, Intramural Sports, Esports, Virtual Programming and Drop-In Sports to assist students and staff.
Assist with maintaining database of potential student-athletes.
Contact vendors regarding leagues and equipment.
Assist with developing and managing templates for schedules, rosters, vehicle request forms, and other appropriate forms.
PROMOTION & MARKETING
Actively recruit current students to participate in sports, targeting a diverse student body, by overseeing recruiting events, creating and distributing informative material, and discovering student’s interests through walk-ins etc.
Assist with the developing and implementing strategies to market sports programs on and off campus and within the community such as, but not limited to: posters, signage, flyers, social media, etc.
Attend planning meetings alongside the Sports Manager and learn to develop meeting agendas, meeting minutes, and communications is support of programming.
Participate in public speaking for in-class and promotions and campus-wide events – in-person and virtually.
Ability to create promotional videos.
Assist marketing efforts involving the utilization of Alpha (college mascot)
TEAM COMMUNICATION
Assist with reports and results of all practices, scrimmages, and competitions.
Provide consistent interoffice communication to keep the staff aware of program progress, processes, and support needs.
Communicate information regarding eligibility, tryouts, schedules, cancellations, marketing, etc. with athletes, coaches, vendors, and other departments.
PERFORMANCE & DEVELOPMENT
Consistently work to improve your skills within the WCC Sports staff competencies.
Help other staff members improve their skills within the S.D.A. staff competencies.
Record your professional experience and progress via resume, online tools, and portfolio.
Related Duties:
BASIC OFFICE & CUSTOMER SERVICE
Represent the WCC Sports Office in a professional and positive manner at all times.
Answer phones and greet visitors with outstanding customer service.
Reply to emails in a timely fashion from students, staff, faculty, community members, coaches, and other college programs.
Organize, inventory, and maintain equipment and storage area.
Perform other day-to-day office duties and maintain coverage during office hours as requested.
Any other duties as assigned.
Hours/Schedule:
We are looking for individuals who have flexibility in schedules, as we have a mix of office hours and sports tryouts/events to cover throughout the week. Be available during regular business hours: Monday-Thursday 9a-6p, and Friday 9a-4p. Be flexible for other sporting games/events that can happen throughout the week: Monday-Friday 3p-11p and Saturday and Sunday 10a-8p. These schedule requirements will be in place for subsequent semesters after being hired and are mandatory to continued eligibility for this position.

Position Summary:
The purpose of the Part-time Peer Tutor is to serve as a “model student” to WCC students seeking tutoring. Peer tutors assist students as they “learn how to learn” through the development of general academic skills and subjects-specific knowledge development in a variety of tutoring formats.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Familiarity with course content, study strategies, and content-based knowledge within assigned disciplines.
Facilitate student learning by helping clarify specific course content and promote use of appropriate study strategies for students to complete homework independently.
Work with students (both online and in person) individually, in groups, and/or as a workshop and supplemental instruction tutor.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to vary communication methods to meet students’ learning style
Actively participate in the research, development and delivery of student-centered workshops and supplemental academic resources that feature a study skill development approach.
Some familiarity with learning technology including Canvas, Zoom, software applications used within assigned disciplines, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Become familiar with all Learning Resource Division resources and accurately direct users to appropriate resources on campus and virtually. Refer students to additional campus resources, such as Disability Services, Academic Advisors, Success Coaches, and the Student Resource Center, as needed.
Act as a representative of the Academic Success Center at various college sponsored activities.
Attend department and division meetings as assigned by supervisor.
Regular attendance on campus is required for this position.

WCC Future U Summer Camp Assistant
Position Summary:
This Temporary Part time Summer Semi Sessions Trainer prepares and executes facilitation of workshops and activities in-person for youth.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Attend 1 mandatory training before the start of camp, in June 2025.
Facilitate student check in, drop off, and pick up.
Assist parents/caregivers in filling out, completing summer camp documents.
Maintain the organization of student records.
Communicate with parents and families about student needs and camp information.
Enforce camp rules and safety protocols to maintain a positive, safe atmosphere.
Be punctual and prepared for each camp day.
Supports with set up and clean up.
Ensure the safety and well-being of campers at all times.
Supervise campers during scheduled activities and free time.
Assist teachers during hands-on activities when needed.
Work with Program Manager and other team member to ensure smooth delivery of camp sessions.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Reliably transport self to campus before start of camp.

Must have Monday-Friday 8:00-3:30 pm availability from July 7-August 8, 2025.
Must be dependable and arrive on time for each scheduled shift.
